Wearing glasses in a VR headset: what works
Oct 23, 2026 · 4 sourcesIf you wear glasses, the first question about any VR or mixed reality headset isn't the screen or the apps. It's whether you'll see anything sharp at all. The three big headsets solve it in two different ways. Here's what Meta, Apple and Samsung say, plus the two other things that decide comfort: weight and battery.
Meta Quest 3: keep your glasses on
Meta says you can wear glasses in Quest 3 using the spacer that comes in the box. If you'd rather not, Meta also sells prescription lens inserts.

Apple Vision Pro and Galaxy XR: prescription inserts
Apple sells ZEISS Optical Inserts made to your prescription, which attach magnetically to Vision Pro's lenses. Samsung offers optional prescription inserts from KODAK for Galaxy XR, which also attach magnetically.
Both are bought separately, so add them to the price if you need them.

Weight on your face
Meta lists Quest 3 at 515 g and Samsung lists Galaxy XR at 545 g, including the forehead cushion. Apple lists Vision Pro at 750 to 800 g with Light Seal and band, with its 353 g battery carried separately.
The makers measure differently and comfort is personal, so try one on if you can, especially with inserts or glasses in.
