What people ask

What's the difference between a plugin and a connector?

A connector links the assistant to one service, like Slack or Google Drive. A plugin bundles connectors with skills (reusable instructions) for a task or role. Both Anthropic and OpenAI now use this split.

Is it safe to connect my accounts?

Connecting gives the assistant your permissions in that service, including the ability to change data. Anthropic advises connecting only services you trust, and warns that local MCP servers in plugins run with the same permissions as any program on your computer.
