Can Claude access your Google Drive files?
Short answer
Yes. Claude's Google Drive connector can search your Drive, read Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs and Microsoft Office files, upload files, create folders, and share, move or trash files. By default it asks for your approval before each share, move or trash. It reads the text in a file only, so images inside documents aren't seen. OneDrive and SharePoint work through the Microsoft 365 connector, for work accounts only.

Good to know: Work Microsoft 365 accounts only, with one-time consent from a Microsoft Entra Global Administrator; creating files needs admin-enabled write tools.
Why it matters
Downloading files from Drive and uploading them to a chatbot one by one is slow; people want the assistant to find and read the right file itself.
Not proven yet
How well it finds the right file in a large, messy Drive; we found no independent test. Anthropic's page gives no file size limit for Drive files, only that a document added to a chat must fit in the conversation.

"Connect to Microsoft 365" help article (read Nov 1, 2026): available on all Claude plans, but only for work Microsoft 365 accounts; personal @outlook.com, @hotmail.com and @live.com accounts aren't supported, and a Microsoft Entra Global Administrator must grant one-time consent. Claude can search and read Outlook email, calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Write tools only work if an admin enables them: drafting, sending and organizing email (sent mail carries a header marking it as agent-initiated, and attachments aren't supported), creating, updating and deleting calendar events, and creating files.
