Does Alexa+ work with Ring doorbells?
Short answer
Yes, with a Ring subscription. Alexa+ Greetings lets a Ring Wired Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) or Wired Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) answer the door for you: it can tell a courier where to leave a package, turn away salespeople or take a message from a friend. Amazon launched it in December 2025 as early access in the US and Canada, in English. On an Echo Show or Fire TV you can also ask Alexa+ to find Ring footage, like "show me packages delivered today." Both need a paid Ring plan with AI video descriptions turned on.

Alexa+ can describe who rang your Ring doorbell and search your Ring camera footage by voice on supported Echo Show and Fire TV devices.
Good to know: Per Amazon's help page (no date shown): needs Ring AI Pro and AI Descriptions in the Ring app. Video search lists the Echo Show 8, 10 (3rd Gen), 11, 15 and 21 and some Fire TV models.
Why it matters
When you're busy or away, you can't come to the door, but you still want deliveries handled and visitors answered.
Not proven yet
Whether Greetings has left early access and reached other Ring doorbells. The plan name differs by source: Amazon's launch post and TechCrunch say Ring Premium Plan, a newer Amazon help page says Ring AI Pro; we couldn't confirm the current name or price. How often it misreads who's at the door; we found no independent test.

Amazon help page "Use Ring AI Features with Alexa+" (read Nov 1, 2026; Amazon's own help-system copy, as the amazon.com help URLs return errors from our server): with Descriptive Announcements, Alexa says who is at the door based on Ring's AI descriptions, for example a pizza delivery person. With AI Video Search you ask Alexa to show Ring footage of people, packages, vehicles or animals. Video search lists the Echo Show 8 (all generations), Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), Echo Show 11, Echo Show 15, Echo Show 21 and several Fire TV models. Requires Ring AI Pro; you turn on AI Descriptions in the Ring app and doorbell announcements in the Alexa app.
