Can Gemini read PDFs, spreadsheets, ZIPs and videos?
Short answer
Mostly yes. Google says Gemini supports most file types and names documents, spreadsheets, photos, videos, audio, code folders and ZIP files. You can add up to 10 files per prompt, from your device, Google Drive or NotebookLM. Videos can be up to 2 GB and other files up to 100 MB; a ZIP holds up to 10 files and can't contain video or audio. Without a paid plan, videos are limited to 5 minutes in total and audio to 10 minutes; Google AI Pro or Ultra raise that to 1 hour and 3 hours. Google's page doesn't list file extensions, so PDF and Excel aren't named there.
