Can a robot mower cut more than one lawn area?
Short answer
Yes. Wire-free mowers from Mammotion, Ecovacs and Husqvarna let you map several zones in the app and link them with paths the mower drives along, such as across a driveway. You can schedule or tune each zone on its own.
Which robots can do it?
- Husqvarna Automower 410 iQYes
Husqvarna says you can set cutting areas, stay-out zones and pathways in the Automower 410 iQ's virtual map.
Good to know: Maker's feature list. Rated for about 0.5 acre in total when mowing systematically.
- Ecovacs Goat O800 RTKYes
Ecovacs says the Goat O800 RTK manages multiple zones, each with its own speed, cutting height and obstacle-avoidance height, and its map editor can add, merge, split and delete areas.
Good to know: Maker's description, UK site.
- Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWDYes
Mammotion lists Auto Multi-Zone Mapping for the LUBA mini 2 AWD, with map edits that don't require remapping from scratch.
Good to know: Maker's description; we haven't read a review that tests it.
- Mammotion Luba 3 AWDYes
The Luba 3 AWD app sets up zones and the pathways between them, so separate areas can be mowed at different times.
Good to know: One review unit in one 0.75-acre yard (supplied by Mammotion); Techaeris lists up to 50 zones.
Why it matters
Many yards are split into a front lawn, a back lawn and side strips, with a driveway or path in between. A mower that only knows one area leaves the rest to you.
Not proven yet
How well each mower crosses gravel, paving or a public sidewalk between zones, and whether a zone with no connecting path needs you to carry the mower over. The Segway Navimow pages we read don't describe a zone feature.
How we know (5 sources)
Review of the Luba 3 AWD (3000 model, $2,799 MSRP), scored 9.1/10. Its LiDAR, RTK and camera navigation is described as reliable under heavy tree canopy where RTK-only mowers lose signal. Downsides: price, occasional grass damage on sharp turns, app lag, weight. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: describes uniform parallel stripes and lists custom lawn patterns and up to 50 zones in the app.
Read the sourceSeveral weeks with a Mammotion-supplied Luba 3 AWD, which uses network RTK plus LiDAR instead of a boundary wire. It held its mapped lines almost perfectly, but got stuck at a ditch when positioning was off by a few inches. Trimming and edging are still needed. From $2,399 in the US. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: the finished lawn had stripes; zones and the pathways between them (even across a driveway) are set up in the app, so areas can be mowed at different times; the reviewer still trims weeds along the driveway and fence himself.
Read the sourceUS product page for the Automower 410 iQ, read Oct 22, 2026: from $2,599.99, for lawns up to about half an acre (±20%), and slopes up to 45%. The page lists no camera-based obstacle detection. Re-read Oct 24, 2026: Husqvarna says its Automower iQ mowers "operate rain or shine"; IPX5 protection rating; connectivity listed as cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, controlled through the Automower Connect app. Safety features listed: anti-theft alarm, GPS theft tracking through the Connect app, GeoFence, PIN code and lift sensor. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: in the app's virtual map you set cutting areas, stay-out zones and pathways, and choose random, striped, checkerboard and other systematic mowing patterns; the specs list 0.5 acre for systematic mowing versus 0.25 acre for irregular areas. The page doesn't describe cutting close to edges. Cutting height about 1 to 4 in, adjusted electrically from the Automower Connect app; the page doesn't mention tall grass.
Read the sourceUS LUBA mini 2 AWD page (read Oct 25, 2026): regular price $1,999 (on sale at $1,799 when read), for lawns up to 0.37 acre. Perimeter-wire-free with no antenna, using 360-degree LiDAR and dual-camera AI vision. All-wheel drive for slopes up to 80%. Avoids 300+ stationary or moving obstacles to protect plants, furniture and pets. IPX6 waterproof with rain detection. Built-in 4G module with 3 years of free data. Re-read later the same day: a fixed 4.7 in edge-cutting disc that reaches to within 2.1 in of a wall, and "Auto Multi-Zone Mapping" with map editing that doesn't require starting over. Cutting height: Standard Version 0.8 to 2.6 in, High Version 2.2 to 4.0 in; no maximum grass height is stated.
Read the sourceUK product page for the Goat O800 RTK, read Oct 22, 2026: 800 m² cutting area, LiDAR-enhanced RTK navigation, AIVI 3D obstacle avoidance with a 3D time-of-flight sensor and AI camera. The page lists the maximum slope as 50% (24°) in the specs and 45% (24°) in the feature text; 3 cm barrier crossing. Re-read Oct 24, 2026: IPX6 waterproof; connects to the app over Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: TruEdge cuts to the edge, riding over passable edges with "zero-edge cutting" and leaving about a 5 cm gap near obstacles (Ecovacs contrasts this with 40 cm+ for other mowers, from its own tests). Multiple zones, each with its own speed, cutting height and obstacle-avoidance height; the map editor can add, merge, split and delete areas. Mows in U-shaped paths. Cutting height 3 to 8 cm, adjustable in 0.5 cm steps and described as automated.
