Do smart glasses really translate conversations? (2026)The Meta Ray-Ban Display shows live translations in the lens. How well it works in reviews, which languages, the battery cost, and the privacy questions. How we know (2 sources)
Ten days with the $800 Meta Ray-Ban Display: a bright display in the right lens for messages, Meta AI, walking directions, camera preview and live captions and translation. Translation in a real conversation was smoother than on display-free glasses but missed some words. Frames are thick and 69 g; battery runs about six hours and drains much faster with translation or video calls. Few apps so far.
Read the sourceReview (updated Jan 31, 2026): the most complete smart glasses the reviewer has tested, but expensive, with limited third-party apps and half-baked maps. Live captions appear within a second or two; live translation (English, Spanish, French, Italian at the time) was adequate but missed fast dialogue. Battery drained faster than Meta's six-hour figure.
