1X NEO: price, release date, and what it can actually do

Where it stands

As of Oct 22, 2026: you can reserve one, but we found no verified delivery to a customer yet.

NEO is the first home humanoid with a public US price. That makes it the robot people ask about most: what it costs, when it arrives, and whether it really does the chores in the video. Here is what the sources say, and where they disagree.

How much does 1X NEO cost?

There are two ways to get one. Early Access costs $20,000 to own and comes with a three-year warranty and priority delivery. The standard plan costs $499 a month; at the end of the term you extend it or return the robot.

Both start with a $200 deposit. One report says the monthly plan has a six-month minimum commitment.

Has anyone actually received a NEO yet?

Not that we can confirm. 1X's order page says "US Deliveries start 2026." When BotInfo checked that page on Oct 5, 2026, there was still no announced customer delivery, and Robozaps found no verified delivery as of July 16, 2026.

One report says 1X started full-scale production in California with first deliveries scheduled for late 2026. Early Access buyers come first, then subscribers.

Is the $200 deposit refundable?

Yes, but the sources describe the cutoff differently. BotInfo quotes 1X saying the deposit is fully refundable up to the point your NEO is ready for delivery. Robozaps reports it is refundable until 14 days after you receive your Order Invitation.

Read the terms on the order page before you pay; they may have changed since either report.

Does NEO do chores on its own?

Some. 1X says NEO can open doors, fetch items and turn off lights from day one, and it lists folding laundry and tidying as chores. It launches with basic autonomy.

For chores it hasn't learned, such as laundry, a 1X operator guides it remotely during a session you schedule. Robozaps notes that a widely shared claim of NEO being "60-70% autonomous" has no primary source.

Can a remote operator see inside my home?

During an Expert session, yes. Operators are US-based 1X employees, every session needs your approval, and NEO's ear lights change color while one is active. Faces can be blurred and you can set no-go zones, but operators can still see room layouts and belongings.

On data, the sources differ. BotInfo relays 1X's FAQ: some sensor data goes to 1X to complete a request and is not stored, and you can opt out of sharing data used to improve NEO. The Robotic Life reports that session footage is stored to train the model. Robozaps points out that none of the safeguards has been independently audited.

Can I get NEO outside the US?

Not yet. Deliveries start in the US; 1X plans other markets from 2027.
