Does a smart ring work with Strava?

Short answer

Two of the three rings we track do. Oura links with Strava directly, in both directions: Strava workouts count toward your Oura activity, and Oura sends its heart-rate workouts to Strava. On Gen3 and newer rings that needs a membership. The Galaxy Ring goes through Samsung Health, which syncs with Strava on Android, but only activities recorded with GPS upload to Strava. RingConn says on its Gen 3 product page that RingConn data doesn't currently sync directly to Strava, even though it offers a Strava trial as a gift.

Which products can do it?

  • Samsung Galaxy RingYes

The Galaxy Ring uses Samsung Health, and Strava says Samsung Health syncs with Strava on Android: Strava activities flow in, and GPS-recorded activities upload to Strava.

Good to know: Strava support page (Sep 18, 2026). Activities without GPS don't upload; you can only share them as an image post. Not on iOS, and the Galaxy Ring needs Android anyway.

  • Oura Ring 5Yes

Oura says its ring links with Strava on iOS and Android: Strava workouts count toward your Oura Activity Score, and Oura can send its heart-rate workouts and score stickers to Strava.

Good to know: Oura support page (updated Oct 14, 2026). Gen3 and newer rings need an active membership. Only the current day syncs, auto-detected activities aren't exported, and Android doesn't export GPS maps yet.

Why it matters

Runners and cyclists already log workouts in Strava, so they want a ring's activity and recovery data to land there too, without logging things twice.

Not proven yet

Whether a workout tracked by the Galaxy Ring alone, without phone GPS, ever reaches Strava; Strava's page only says non-GPS activities don't upload. Garmin Connect: we found no direct Oura, RingConn or Galaxy Ring link on the makers' pages. The RingConn "no" comes from its Gen 3 product page (read Nov 4, 2026) and is stated for RingConn data in general.

  1. StravaFrom the company

Strava support, Samsung Health and Strava (dated Sep 18, 2026; read Nov 4, 2026): Android only; the Samsung Health app on iOS can't connect to Strava. Turn it on in Samsung Health under Settings > Services > Strava. Strava sends route, activity type, distance, time and calories to Samsung Health. From Samsung Health, only activities recorded with GPS upload to Strava automatically; non-GPS activities can only be shared as a Strava post with an image of the stats.

  2. OuraFrom the company

Oura support, Strava Integration (last updated Oct 14, 2026; read Nov 4, 2026): linking the accounts works both ways on iOS and Android. Gen2 rings are supported; Gen3 and newer need an active membership. Connect under Settings > Data sharing > App integrations > Strava. Workouts recorded in Strava show up on Oura's Timeline and count toward the Activity Score and goal; Oura sends workouts recorded with Activity Heart Rate to Strava, and you can post Readiness and Activity Scores as Oura Stickers. Only the current day syncs (no history), automatically detected or manually added Oura activities aren't exported, and GPS maps don't export from Android yet. Both apps need to be opened daily for sync to work.

Its footnotes say the ring must be paired with a phone on Android 11 or later with at least 1.5 GB of memory, needs the Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health apps and a Samsung account, and that the Galaxy Wearable app isn't supported on iOS.
