Eufy Omni S2 vs Roborock Saros Z70

3 questions both answer, side by side. Every answer is backed by the dated sources at the bottom.

Side by side: where the details differ

Can a robot vacuum get over high door thresholds?

Omni S2
Yes

The Omni S2 is listed for thresholds up to 42 mm, well below the step-climbing Roborock and Dreame models.

Good to know: Listed spec, not a measured result.

Saros Z70
Yes

Roborock lists the Saros Z70 for double-layer thresholds up to 4 cm (about 1.57 inches), with a chassis that lifts up to 10 mm.

Good to know: Maker's spec; Roborock notes results vary with the home. Not tested in our sources.

Can a robot vacuum keep its wet mop off the carpet?

Omni S2
Yes

The Omni S2 lifts its roller mop 28 mm on carpet, the highest lift listed here.

Good to know: Listed spec. The roller stays on the robot; it can't be left at the dock.

Saros Z70
Yes

Roborock says the Saros Z70 detaches its mops before vacuum-only runs and carpet cleaning, so carpets stay dry.

Good to know: Maker's description; no lift height listed.

Can a robot vacuum pick up pet hair without tangling?

Omni S2
Yes

The Omni S2 scored 88.5 on the pet hair pickup test with zero tangles.

Good to know: Lab test on one unit.

Saros Z70
Yes

Roborock says the Saros Z70 has an anti-tangle system on its main and side brushes that manages long hair.

Good to know: Maker's claim (it cites a 0% tangle rate in its own testing); not in Vacuum Wars' pet hair data.

Can a robot vacuum avoid pet poop?

Omni S2
Yes

The Omni S2 avoided all 24 objects, including simulated pet waste, in Vacuum Wars' obstacle course.

Saros Z70
Only in demos

The Saros Z70's arm picks up socks, paper clumps and slides up to 300 g and drops them in a set spot.

Good to know: Worked about half the time in one hands-on review; other reviewers called the automatic arm unreliable or buggy. The CES demo only worked with the sock in one spot.

Can a robot vacuum work without Wi-Fi?

Omni S2
Not checked for this product yet.
Saros Z70
Yes

Roborock says its robot vacuums can clean the whole home, spot-clean and return to the dock at the push of a button without Wi-Fi, and handle basic voice commands offline.

Good to know: Roborock's general FAQ, not specific to the Saros Z70. Scheduling and suction-power choice need Wi-Fi.

Obstacle-avoidance ranking (last updated Oct 21, 2026) from a standardized 24-object course that includes simulated pet waste, plus a cluttered torture test. The Eufy Omni S2 avoided all 24 objects; the Mova V70 Ultra Complete avoided 23. Notes that top-mounted LiDAR can miss low objects, so front cameras and sensors do the avoiding.

CES 2025 demo of the Roborock Saros Z70: its arm picked up a balled-up sock and dropped it in a basket, but only with the sock in one specific spot. Roborock quoted a 300 g limit for socks, paper, small towels and sandals.

  4. TechRadarIndependent

Review of the Saros Z70: the arm is well designed and works well when steered remotely in the app, but its automatic mode is buggy and limited. Vacuuming, mopping and navigation are outstanding; the price is described as investment-level.

  5. Trusted ReviewsIndependent

Hands-on review of the Saros Z70: excellent vacuuming and mopping, but the OmniGrip arm is unreliable. A small sock and a tissue were ignored and run over; a shoe was picked up, but the claw caught inside it at the drop-off and the robot drove around with it. The arm is off by default.
