How we know (9 sources)
Mammotion blog on how robot mowers work (read Oct 26, 2026): its blades cut a little at a time and leave fine clippings that decompose as natural fertilizer (mulching). The FAQ says robot mowers usually have no collection bag, but Mammotion's YUKA mowers do. Names LUBA, LUBA 2 and YUKA, not the Luba 3 or LUBA mini 2.
Read the sourceMammotion blog post (read Oct 25, 2026): its robot mowers offer two systematic patterns, zigzag (parallel rows that leave neat stripes) and checkerboard (a second set of passes at right angles for a crosshatch look). The post doesn't say which models support which pattern.
Read the sourceReview of the Luba 3 AWD (3000 model, $2,799 MSRP), scored 9.1/10. Its LiDAR, RTK and camera navigation is described as reliable under heavy tree canopy where RTK-only mowers lose signal. Downsides: price, occasional grass damage on sharp turns, app lag, weight. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: describes uniform parallel stripes and lists custom lawn patterns and up to 50 zones in the app.
Read the sourceMammotion's LUBA 3 AWD winter maintenance article (read Oct 28, 2026): store the mower clean and dry in a well-ventilated place away from direct rain, snow and excess humidity, charged to about 80%. It doesn't name a place such as a garage. If winter temperatures regularly fall below -20°C (-4°F), move the mower, charging station and power supply indoors. Re-read Oct 25, 2026: the finished lawn had stripes; zones and the pathways between them (even across a driveway) are set up in the app, so areas can be mowed at different times; the reviewer still trims weeds along the driveway and fence himself.
